Join us for the community launch of the Microsoft Hmong Translator. This event will give an overview of the  first web-based Machine Translator for Hmong in the world. This product was the result of a collaboration between the Linguistics Department at Fresno State, Micrwsoft Research and the Hmong community. Hmong is now a fully supported language by Microsoft. Come and find out about this tool, the technology behind its development, the implication for the community, and what its future is. Speakers from Microsoft Research, Fresno State, and the Hmong community will discuss the impact such a translator will have on the community. Contact: Phong Yang at 559.278.1164 or the Department of Linguistics at 559.278.2441.
